COMMUNICATION IN THE WORKPLACE

Hazardous situations are impossible to avoid. No matter what you do and how much time you spend doing it, activities and places in life will always have some type of dangerous aspect about it. Factories and research labs both can be very dangerous no matter how safe you try to be. The important thing to remember is to always try to learn from what happened so you can do your best to avoid anybody else from getting in to the same or a similar injury.
All companies and workplaces have guidelines and rules that they communicate to new employees so they can learn what to do to keep their workplace safe. A lot of people think that accidents are just going to happen and nothing can be done about it. It's true that accident work will happen unexpectedly and it may feel like there is no way to avoid it but this is false. Rules are created for a reason and as long as you follow rules in the workplace then you will increase your chances of being safe. Of course in some cases obvious rules will not be enforced because you should already know what not to do in some cases. If you see someone doing something wrong in the workplace then you should communicate to them what they are doing wrong and try to help them do it the right place. Communication is a big factor in the workplace because employees are the people doing most of the dangerous jobs and no the employers. Therefore employees will know certain things that employers may have overlooked since they may not have actually worked a certain machine. Employers should try to setup workshops and casual job meetings outside the workplace so that their employees can meet each other. This will form a relationship between the employees. This new found relationship will build the employee's confidence, which will help them interact with other employees if they see someone doing something wrong.
