Consumers are still waiting to be treated better by our traders.

Rights of consumers is what everyone is talking about these days. Violation of these rights has become the order of the day. I wonder why our traders find it so hard to respect consumer rights. Consider a case of a friend of mine who could not get an exchange after she purchased a faulty item from one store in town simply because she had misplaced a receipt. Even after showing her credit card statements as evidence of purchase, she still could not get an exchange from the retailer. This is totally consumer rights violation. Another customer was not given a warranty after purchase of a second hand car and after a week the car developed a fault. He had to deal with the car himself because his dealer had nothing more to offer after purchase. Most consumers are waiting for such a time when traders will realize just how important a consumer is in the trading process and accord them the respect they deserve as well as respect their consumer rights to purchase. Then, consumers will be free to purchase without worrying so much about their rights.
