I Have the Tools But Not the Skills to Improve My House

I may not have the DIY skills, but I certainly have the tools. My wife keeps buying me DIY tools - I'm getting the idea she wants me to work on the house! She bought me a bench saw 2 months ago on my birthday, and it's still not been used - along with the other tools that are clean because they've never been switched on!
However, if I had the time and skills, I would definitely take up the challenge to improve my house. I know I could hire a professional to do such jobs, but I get my wife's point - it's not impossible to learn DIY, and it will save a lot of money in the long run. So the logical next step is for me to take up some DIY courses so I don't end up making a mess of my fingers, let alone the house!
