The new constitution states that on the matter whereby the father was sentenced to life imprisonment, he has a right to be visited by his family and friends as well. In cases whereby the father will only be locked for a period of less than three years, he will only be visited by his lawyer to help in solving the case and no friends or families are allowed because his imprisonment is a short term one. Fathers in prison should find out their rights so that they are not violated by the guards who usually receive the visitors. If your right is being mishandled, then you should report the case whenever you are taken to court for proceedings. |

My last birthday, which was only a few months ago, was the worst birthday ever! It was the first birthday I ever spent alone. My oldest daughter's birthday was three days before mine and we used to celebrate together almost every year. My daughter died last April and this was the first birthday without her. I told everyone I just wanted to be alone to deal with it. A friend of mine did of course after my birthday, insist on stopping by and bringing me a gift. I certainly did not expect this. I was surprised and happy after all. My friend gave me a Graf von Faber-Castell ballpoint pen, as he knew I loved to put pen to paper. It was a lovely thought, and the idea that he was thinking of me and wanted to lift my spirits, was the best luxury gift I could have received. I am thankful for the kindness and simple gifts that meant so much in my time of sorrow. |
